What is
Neurofibromatosis?
Neurofibromatosis
the disorder is commonly referred to as Nf. Friedrich Von
Recklinghausen, a German Pathologist, first described Nf in 1882.
Since that time it has become clear not only that Nf is one of the
commoner genetic disorders, but also that there are several distinct
forms of the condition.
Nf1 and Nf2
The form described by Von Rechlinghausen is by far the most common,
accounting for approximately 90% of all cases and is referred to
as Nf1.
There are numerous important differences between the two distinct
forms of Nf: Nf1 and Nf2.
