What is Neurofibromatosis?

Neurofibromatosis the disorder is commonly referred to as Nf. Friedrich Von Recklinghausen, a German Pathologist, first described Nf in 1882. Since that time it has become clear not only that Nf is one of the commoner genetic disorders, but also that there are several distinct forms of the condition.

Nf1 and Nf2

The form described by Von Rechlinghausen is by far the most common, accounting for approximately 90% of all cases and is referred to as Nf1.
